
Troops of the 13 Brigade arrested a suspected cultist at a checkpoint in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State on Wednesday night, the military said.
The arrest happened around 11 p.m. at a checkpoint near Camp 4 in the Pamol Plantation area. Soldiers conducting a stop-and-search recovered a locally made pistol, a machete, an axe and a knife from the suspect, according to a report shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

The suspect is in military custody. Security sources said investigators are working to determine his affiliations and any links to recent disturbances in the area.
The military said the suspect and the recovered weapons will be handed over for legal action after preliminary inquiries.
