Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested four suspected armed robbers linked to “one chance” operations in Delta State, recovering firearms during coordinated patrols.
The arrests were made in separate operations by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and the Crack Squad as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities across the state.
In one operation, RRS officers on routine stop-and-search duty along Ugbolu/Asaba Road intercepted a 28-year-old suspect identified as Chinoso Igwemma.
His suspicious behaviour prompted a search, leading to the recovery of a fabricated Beretta pistol. The suspect was immediately taken into custody and is currently assisting with investigations.

In a related development, operatives of the Crack Squad intercepted a tricycle in the Bonsaac area of Asaba carrying three male occupants.
The suspects, identified as Umuadi Benjamin Chinecherem, Nwabueze Kelvin, and Okonkwo Celestine, were found in possession of a locally made cut-to-size pistol loaded with a live cartridge.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are allegedly involved in “one chance” robbery operations, a criminal tactic where unsuspecting passengers are lured into vehicles and dispossessed of their valuables.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reiterated the command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing and proactive strategies aimed at tackling crime.
He assured residents that efforts are ongoing to dismantle criminal networks and bring all perpetrators to justice.
