Actress and skit maker Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as KieKie, has opened up on why she lived with her husband for a few months before their wedding.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, KieKie explained that the decision was purely based on practicality and financial considerations.
According to her, the arrangement happened at a time when her rent had expired, while she and her partner were already in preparations for their white wedding scheduled for January.
Rather than renew her lease for another year, she decided to move in with her husband temporarily.
She noted that they had already completed their traditional marriage rites and were only waiting for the formal church wedding, which made the decision easier for them.

KieKie acknowledged that some people might not agree with the arrangement, but insisted it was a sensible financial choice at the time.
“Before my husband and I got married, we lived together for about four months.
My rent had expired, and we were getting married in January, so I said to myself, ‘Why pay another rent?’ People might judge it, but I wasn’t going to waste money,” she said.
She also added that their church was not aware of the arrangement during that period, even though she remained active in church activities.
Her comments have since sparked conversations online about modern relationships, marriage traditions, and financial practicality among couples.
