Gunmen have killed the Chairman of the Butchers’ Association in Ruwan Godiya branch, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, in a deadly attack.
The incident reportedly began when armed men stormed the Ruwan Godiya community and targeted the residence of the association chairman, Sa’adu Amadu, in what residents described as a sudden and coordinated assault.
The attackers were said to have arrived in the area and moved directly to his home.
Security sources said troops under Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA received reports of armed activity around the outskirts of the village on April 21 and were immediately deployed to the area at about 1:25 pm.

On arrival, the troops discovered that Amadu had already been shot dead inside his compound.
According to the sources, the attack was allegedly carried out by a suspected armed group led by a man identified as Dogo Musa, who fled the scene immediately after the killing.
“The troops arrived and confirmed the victim had been killed in his compound. The attackers had already escaped before security forces got there,” a source said.
Troops reportedly pursued the fleeing suspects, but no contact was made.
Security agencies have since intensified patrols and search operations in the area in an effort to track down those responsible and prevent further attacks.
