
Young Ghanaian internet sensation, Albert Ofosu Nketia, popularly known as the “Laughing Boy,” has reportedly taken a major step in transforming his family’s life by purchasing a new home for his mother.
Albert rose to global fame after a short video showing him switching from intense crying to a bright, contagious laugh went viral across social media platforms, including TikTok, WhatsApp, and X.
The clip quickly became one of the most widely used memes online, symbolising mixed emotions and humorous mood swings.
According to his mother, Rosina, life before the viral moment was marked by hardship and uncertainty.
The family reportedly lived in poor conditions, often struggling to afford basic needs such as food, rent, and school fees. At times, Albert and his siblings were unable to attend school due to financial difficulties.
However, their situation changed dramatically after the video gained global attention. Rosina explained that what started as an ordinary moment at their home in Kumasi has now opened doors to opportunities they never imagined.

She recalled that the viral video was recorded on a Saturday when Albert became upset after being given plantains instead of his preferred meal, yams.
As he cried, his grandmother tried to console him by singing a funny song, which caused him to suddenly burst into laughter. The moment was captured on camera by a relative, unknowingly creating a viral sensation.
Now around 10 years old, Albert was just seven when the video first surfaced in 2023. Since then, he has become a recognizable face globally, especially among content creators who frequently use his clip to enhance comedy skits.
