
The Nigeria Police Force in Adamawa State has launched a manhunt for the killers of a pastor who was shot dead by suspected gunmen in Song Local Government Area.
The victim, identified as Emmanuel Ezeoikwe, was reportedly attacked in Zinai Village, Bolki, during the early hours of April 21, 2026. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the command received a report of the incident at about 6:30 a.m. from a resident of the community.
The report indicated that the assailants stormed the village at about 12:48 a.m. and opened fire on the pastor, killing him on the spot before fleeing the scene.

Police operatives were immediately dispatched to the area, where they recovered the victim’s body and took it to a nearby hospital. A medical doctor later confirmed him dead, and his remains were deposited in the morgue for autopsy.
Nguroje disclosed that preliminary investigations led to the recovery of three empty AK-47 shell casings at the scene, suggesting the attackers used high-powered firearms.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Kabir Umar Hassan, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a thorough and discreet investigation.
He also ordered the deployment of tactical teams to track down the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice.
The police assured residents that efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible, while urging members of the public to provide useful information that could aid the investigation.
