
John Arum
A graduate of the University of Jos, John Arum, who was abducted by suspected terrorists approximately two weeks ago, has regained his freedom.
Arum was reportedly kidnapped along the Jos–Kaduna highway while travelling from Plateau State to Kaduna State. He was taken alongside six other passengers during the incident.
During his captivity, disturbing videos surfaced online showing the victim being tortured by his abductors, sparking widespread concern and calls for his rescue.

His release was confirmed on Wednesday by the Global President of the University of Jos Alumni Association, Gad Shamaki, who described the development as a moment of relief and thanksgiving.
According to Shamaki, Arum has safely returned home and reunited with his family.
“We are relieved and grateful to share that John Arum has been safely released and is now back home with his family. This is a moment of thanksgiving,” he stated.
He also urged the public to keep the victim in their thoughts and prayers as he recovers from the traumatic experience, while remembering others who remain in captivity.
As of the time of filing this report, the condition and whereabouts of the other passengers abducted alongside him remain unclear.
Efforts to reach members of the victim’s family for further comments were unsuccessful.
