
Troops under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested a suspected terrorist during a targeted operation in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
The operation, which was carried out on April 15, 2026, followed credible intelligence on the presence of a suspected criminal hiding in Tse Atu community.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post shared on X, noting that troops of Sector 1 OPWS, deployed in Anguhah and Umbagbo, swiftly acted on the intelligence.

According to the report, the troops conducted a coordinated raid on the location, leading to the arrest of one suspect. A motorcycle believed to be linked to the suspect was also recovered during the operation.
The suspect and the recovered item are currently in custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the individual’s involvement in criminal activities.
Security operatives have also intensified efforts to gather further intelligence and prevent potential threats in the area.
