Troops of the 8 Division Garrison have successfully repelled a late-night terrorist attack in Tara village, located in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The incident, which occurred around 11:50 pm on April 11, was disclosed in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by security analyst Zagazola Makama, known for monitoring security developments across Nigeria.
According to the report, soldiers stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Gatawa swiftly responded to intelligence regarding the movement of suspected terrorists within the area.

Upon arrival, the troops engaged the assailants in a fierce gun battle, deploying superior firepower that ultimately forced the attackers to retreat.
Security sources confirmed that the terrorists fled the scene following the exchange, although no official casualty figures have been released as of the time of filing this report.
In response to the attack, military personnel have intensified patrols and surveillance operations in the area to forestall any further threats and ensure the safety of residents.
