
At least seven persons, including three police officers and four civilians, have been killed following a deadly attack on a community in Taraba State.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Tor-Damisa, a community in Donga Local Government Area, when gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen invaded the area, shooting sporadically and throwing residents into panic.
According to local sources, security operatives from the Nigeria Police Force responded swiftly to the distress call and engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle.

The exchange of gunfire reportedly resulted in the death of three police officers, who were killed in the line of duty, as well as four civilians caught in the violence.
The attack has forced many residents to flee their homes, seeking safety in neighbouring communities amid fears of further violence.
As of the time of filing this report, the Taraba State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, as efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer proved unsuccessful.
