A popular Ibadan-based cleric, Kayode Amusan, widely known as Agbala Gabriel, has come under intense scrutiny following allegations of sexual misconduct and mismanagement of donations meant for sick individuals.
For years, the pastor built a reputation online as a compassionate religious leader whose ministry frequently raised funds to assist sick and vulnerable people.
Videos of him praying for struggling families and appealing for financial support often circulated across social media, earning him admiration from many Nigerians who saw his ministry as a channel of charity and humanitarian outreach.
However, the cleric’s reputation has recently come under question after a series of allegations surfaced on social media platforms, sparking widespread debate among supporters and critics.
One of the controversies centres on the case of a woman identified as Morenikeji, who reportedly suffers from a spinal condition.
Her medical situation had earlier attracted public donations from well-meaning Nigerians to support her surgery and treatment.

In a viral video, Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola revealed that she had initially helped raise funds for the woman’s surgery.
According to her, the amount raised at the time was insufficient, and the woman’s family later sought assistance from the pastor.
Daramola explained that she withdrew her involvement after learning that the family had taken the patient to Agbala Gabriel for help.
She later alleged that the cleric did not fulfil promises reportedly made regarding accommodation and the medical treatment.
The patient’s daughter also claimed that she eventually removed her mother from the pastor’s care due to concerns about how the situation was being handled.
While that controversy continued to generate reactions online, another allegation emerged involving claims about the cleric’s personal conduct.
A blogger known as Iyalaje Courtroom alleged during a live broadcast that the pastor was involved in the mismanagement of donations and had inappropriate relationships with women within his church.
According to the blogger, one of the women identified as Bolu, said to be a former backup singer in the church, allegedly became pregnant for the cleric and later gave birth to twins.
The claim was also supported by charity advocate Princess Adeyinka, who said she personally intervened when the issue first surfaced.
She alleged that the pastor initially denied responsibility for the pregnancy but later accepted it after pressure and reportedly provided accommodation for the woman and the children.
As the allegations continue to spread across social media, reactions from the public remain sharply divided. While some supporters defend the cleric and point to his years of charity work, others have called for greater transparency regarding the handling of donations and the allegations against him.
Responding to the claims, Agbala Gabriel denied any wrongdoing, insisting that the accusations were attempts to discredit him.
According to him, public figures and ministers often face false allegations once they become popular, adding that social media has become a platform where such claims are frequently spread without verification.
