
The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that three people were killed and 11 others injured after bandits attacked Jikamashi town in Musawa Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Aliyu Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Katsina.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on March 10 at about 6:05 p.m., when the Musawa Police Division received a distress call reporting that suspected bandits armed with dangerous weapons had invaded Jikamashi village.

Abubakar explained that the attackers injured 14 residents before security personnel arrived at the scene.
He said a joint team of security operatives, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Musawa, was immediately deployed to the area.
“The team confronted the bandits in a gun battle and successfully repelled the attack,” he said.
The police spokesman added that the injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
“Sadly, three of the victims later died from their injuries, while the remaining 11 are currently responding to treatment,” he said.
Abubakar also noted that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Bello Shehu, condemned the attack and ordered a full investigation into the incident to ensure those responsible are apprehended.
