A Nigerian man, Kasimu Wali Tambuwal, has reportedly lost his eyesight after being held captive for six months by suspected bandits.
His family has struggled to raise the ransom demanded for his release, leaving him in a critical condition.
In a distressing video, Kasimu appeared weak and traumatized as he pleaded in Hausa for urgent help.
He described enduring severe torture, starvation, and harsh conditions that have left him gradually blind and physically debilitated.
Kasimu revealed that he was beaten regularly, denied sufficient food, and forced to endure extreme hardships in a makeshift hideout.
The prolonged abuse caused intense pain in his joints and limbs, leaving his hands almost unusable and his body severely weakened.
He directly appealed to his family:
“I have been here for six months and can barely see. My body is failing, my joints and limbs are in pain.

Please come and bring the money in person as instructed by my captors.”
He also highlighted the timing of his ordeal during Ramadan:
“We are in the eighth day of fasting. You do not understand the condition we are living in. Please, I am begging you, help me.”
During the recording, a voice believed to belong to one of the bandits instructed Kasimu to expose his physical condition, likely to pressure his family into paying the ransom.
Continuing his desperate plea, Kasimu emphasized the severity of his situation:
“I am only suffering here. Whoever sees this message, I am in serious trouble.
Bring the money directly in person. You must help me.”
He concluded by urging his family to set aside any disputes and focus on saving his life:
“Whatever issues exist between you and me can be discussed later. Right now, I need help.”
Kasimu’s harrowing appeal underscores the extreme risks faced by kidnapping victims and the urgent need for intervention to secure his safe release.
