
A self-styled native doctor has been arrested for allegedly attempting to kill a 10-year-old boy for ritual purposes in Kuidawa village, Katsina State.
The incident reportedly occurred on the evening of February 22, around 7:30 pm. According to reports, the suspect, popularly known as Boka, lured the boy, Alhassan Usman, into a bush and pushed him into a well.
The boy was rescued the following day by a Good Samaritan and was immediately taken to the General Hospital, Katsina, where he received treatment for multiple injuries.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert who shared the details on X, said the suspect confessed to the crime during police investigations.

The native doctor reportedly stated that he was preparing charms for an individual named Khalid, who is still at large.
“The case is under investigation for culpable homicide, unlawful juju, and cultism,” Makama added.
Attempts to reach Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Aliyu, for comment were
unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
The arrest comes amid growing concerns about ritual-related crimes in the state and has sparked calls for increased community vigilance and stricter enforcement against illegal practices.
