Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to play an international friendly against Jordan in Amman during the March 23–31 FIFA international window.
The match will mark the first senior-level meeting between the two nations and forms part of Jordan’s preparation for their debut at the FIFA World Cup.
Jordan, nicknamed “The Chivalrous Ones,” has been drawn into a challenging World Cup group alongside defending champions Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Iran is exploring a March fixture against Nigeria, while a potential June clash with Portugal is also under consideration.

Nigeria’s participation in the friendly, however, hinges on FIFA’s ruling regarding the country’s eligibility protest against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo).
The Super Eagles claim that DR Congo fielded six ineligible players during last year’s 2026 World Cup African play-offs, where Nigeria lost on penalties in Morocco.
This marked the second consecutive time the West African nation failed to qualify for the tournament.
FIFA is set to review Nigeria’s petition today.
Depending on the outcome, the Super Eagles could be reinstated into the intercontinental play-offs in Mexico later this month for a chance to secure one of the final World Cup spots.
Both Nigeria and DR Congo are reportedly ready to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport if dissatisfied with FIFA’s decision, prompting the governing body to handle the matter with exceptional caution.
