Reality TV star Tope Adenibuyan, popularly known as Teddy A, has opened up about the emotional toll and reputational damage caused by past false allegations that he physically abused his wife, actress and media personality Bamike “Bambam” Olawunmi-Adenibuyan.
Speaking on the WithChude podcast, Teddy A described the accusations as shocking and deeply distressing for his family.
According to him, the reports, which spread widely on social media, claimed that he had beaten his wife—even during her pregnancy—an allegation he says was completely untrue.
He recounted the day the claims surfaced: “I woke up, went downstairs, and my wife was there watching a movie. She was pregnant and laughing.
There was no sign of trouble in our home.” He added that he first realized something was wrong after noticing a sudden surge in notifications on his phone.

Teddy A explained that the allegations quickly sparked intense online discussions and speculation, leaving him stunned by how fast the narrative spread.
At the time, he said, he was advised by his manager to remain silent and wait for the issue to die down—a decision he now regrets.
“Even now, when my wife and I post photos or videos, people still comment and ask if I beat her,” he said.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate described the experience as painful, noting it changed public perception of him and caused lasting effects on his reputation.
Teddy A’s revelations have reignited conversations about the dangers of unverified social media allegations and the importance of addressing false claims promptly.
Neither Teddy A nor Bambam have ever confirmed any incident of domestic abuse, and they continue to present a united front publicly.
