The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old man, identified as Miracle Samuel, over the alleged killing of his girlfriend in Benin City, Edo State.
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Patrick Daaor, the suspect and the deceased reportedly met on social media and developed a friendship after chatting for several months.
The police commissioner said the suspect later invited the woman to his residence in the Ahor axis of Benin City, where he allegedly killed her with a knife.
However, Samuel gave a different account of the incident, claiming that the woman sustained fatal injuries during a struggle over a knife following an argument between them.
