Troops of the Joint Task Force (North West), under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have successfully rescued 13 kidnapped victims during coordinated operations in Zamfara State, dealing a significant blow to terrorist activities in the region.
The rescue missions, carried out in Anka and Kaura Namoda Local Government Areas, were based on credible intelligence and real-time surveillance.
According to military sources, the operations forced suspected terrorists to abandon their captives and flee under heavy pressure from advancing troops.
In the first operation at Bagega in Anka LGA, security operatives intercepted armed terrorists reportedly moving on motorcycles towards Tungan Kudaduku.
The troops engaged them with superior firepower, compelling the suspects to retreat. A subsequent search of the area led to the discovery of a makeshift camp, where five abducted civilians were rescued unharmed.
