Gambian actress Princess Shyngle has stirred up a heated debate on social media by advising women in relationships or marriages not to ask for financial help.
In a candid Instagram post, Shyngle expressed her belief that women in committed relationships should never experience financial hardship, as she feels their partners should be responsible for supporting them.
She also voiced frustration about receiving direct messages from women asking for money, particularly when many of these women are already married or in relationships. “What are your partners doing for you?” she asked.
Shyngle drew a distinction between married women and single women, stating that single women face real financial struggles, often working hard to make ends meet without the support of a partner. “Struggling is meant for single women only,” she emphasized. “If you are married, engaged, or in a relationship, struggling should not be part of your life.”

She pointed out that the majority of women who reach out to her for financial assistance are either married or in relationships. “Are you not ashamed of yourself? Coming to beg a single woman for money?” she said, adding that it was ironic for married women to seek help from someone who has no partner to rely on.
Shyngle made it clear that single women, like herself, face unique challenges and are working hard to overcome them. “We are single, we are struggling, grinding every day,” she explained. “Some of us haven’t had sex in months or even years. We don’t have a man to warm our beds.”
She concluded her message by urging women who have partners to refrain from asking her for financial help, emphasizing, “If you have a man, stay away from my DMs begging me for money. How can you have a man and still be out here begging a single woman?”
Her comments have sparked a lively discussion online, with many debating the role of partners in providing financial support within relationships.
