A UK-based Nigerian man, identified on X as Ugo (@heismric), has confirmed the end of his marriage following a viral social media dispute in which he accused his wife of infidelity while he worked abroad to support the family financially.
In a series of emotional posts that quickly gained traction online, Ugo revealed that the marriage had officially ended after a UK court granted a final divorce order.
According to him, their relationship began with an engagement in January 2023 before they got married in December of the same year. The couple later welcomed a child in 2024, after which he relocated his wife to the United Kingdom.
Ugo claimed he single-handedly handled the family’s financial responsibilities, including paying his wife’s tuition fees and providing support throughout her pregnancy and childbirth. He also stated that he created digital applications aimed at supporting both his wife and child as part of his efforts to build a stable family life.
Following the birth of their child, he reportedly gifted his wife a car — a gesture that attracted attention online at the time and was widely interpreted as a public expression of love and appreciation.
However, the marriage later faced challenges after allegations of infidelity surfaced. In posts that have since been deleted, Ugo accused his wife of being involved with another man while he was away working in the UK.
One of his viral posts read: “It’s crazy you’re in my house, sleeping with another man, while I’m in London working to pay your school fees in GBP. Divorce finalised.”
He further alleged that some members of his wife’s family continued requesting financial support despite being aware of the situation.

As the story spread online, social media users reacted with mixed opinions. While some sympathised with Ugo and praised his sacrifices, others criticised him for taking private marital issues to the public space.
Many users also revisited his previous posts celebrating his wife and their relationship, noting that he had often publicly expressed affection for her while she maintained a relatively low profile online.
Confirming the end of the marriage in a follow-up post on Monday, Ugo wrote: “UGO’s wife. Divorce is finalised. It’s ex-wife.”
He later shared what appeared to be an official notification from the UK HM Courts and Tribunals Service confirming that the divorce had been legally finalised.
