The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two individuals following an attack on the Ijebu Jesa Divisional Headquarters during a protest by students of Interlink College of Health Technology, Ijebu Jesa.
The protest was triggered by the death of a National Diploma II student, identified as Oluwaseun, who reportedly lost his life in a road accident on Wednesday.
The student, from the Mass Communication Department, was said to be returning from Ilesa to Ijebu Jesa on a motorcycle when he was struck by a bus.
Eyewitness accounts and video footage indicate that the incident sparked outrage among students, who confronted police officers at the accident scene.
The situation escalated when the students demanded that the bus driver be handed over to them, a request that was declined by the police.
In the ensuing chaos, the protesters allegedly attempted to set the bus ablaze before officers intervened and dispersed the crowd using teargas.

The unrest did not end there, as some of the students later regrouped and marched to the police station, where they reportedly attacked personnel and damaged property, including smashing a vehicle windscreen.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, officers had responded promptly to secure the accident scene but were met with resistance.
He stated that attempts were made by police authorities and the local monarch to calm the situation, but these efforts proved unsuccessful.
Ojelabi confirmed that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack and have since been transferred to the state headquarters in Osogbo for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the deceased student has been laid to rest in his hometown, Iwoye Ijesa, in a burial attended by grieving classmates and community members.
