U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly criticised the Grammy Awards, calling the ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and hinting at possible legal action against host Trevor Noah.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump described the Grammys as one of the “worst” award shows and suggested that CBS was “lucky” to no longer air what he called “garbage.”
The president specifically targeted Noah’s performance as host, comparing him unfavourably to late-night television personalities like Jimmy Kimmel.
The controversy stems from a remark Noah made during the ceremony referencing Trump and former President Bill Clinton in relation to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump strongly denied ever visiting Epstein’s private island or having any connection to Epstein, calling Noah’s comment “incorrect and defamatory.” He added that he had “never been accused of such by the media” before.

Warning of possible legal consequences, Trump described Noah as a “pathetic” and “talentless” host and indicated that his lawyers were considering pursuing a lawsuit for damages.
He also referenced previous legal disputes with media figures, noting that such cases “worked out well” for him.
The remarks have sparked widespread discussion online, with social media users weighing in on both Trump’s reaction and Noah’s controversial joke.
