Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recorded a major operational success after killing a top commander of Boko Haram and arresting a suspected drone and logistics supplier in coordinated raids in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Security sources disclosed that troops, acting on actionable intelligence and local tip-offs, laid a discreet ambush along the Visik River line, a known transit route used by insurgents to move between hideouts.
The operation was carefully timed to intercept the commander’s movement out of the area after recent attacks.
As fighters attempted to cross the river corridor, troops closed in from multiple directions, cutting off escape routes and forcing the group into a narrow passage where they were overwhelmed.

During the encounter, Abdullahi Mafa, described as a notorious hybrid commander linked to repeated assaults in the Madagali axis, was neutralised, while other fighters fled into surrounding terrain.
In a follow-up operation later the same evening, soldiers stormed Madagali Motor Park and arrested 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula, alleged to be a collaborator who supplied aerial drones and logistics to the insurgent group.
Two drones and 20 solar power banks were recovered from the suspect at the point of arrest.
Military authorities confirmed that the suspect remains in custody and is undergoing interrogation, as operations continue across the area to dismantle remaining terror networks, cut supply routes, and restore security to affected communities.
