
Several terrorists have been killed after troops of the 1 Brigade Quick Reaction Force carried out a fighting patrol in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The operation was conducted on May 22 under Operation FANSAN YANMA, following intelligence on terrorist activity in the area.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared details on X, the troops acted on reports that armed men were present around Yan Doto village at about 10:00 a.m. The soldiers moved swiftly into the location and made contact with suspected terrorists in the Yanware community.

A gunfight broke out during the encounter. Several terrorists were killed in the exchange, while others fled with injuries. After the clash, troops searched the surrounding area but did not encounter any more of the fleeing suspects.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the military to disrupt terrorist movements and restore stability in Zamfara and other parts of the North West.
