The Rivers State Government has sealed off a building estimated to be over 60 years old in Port Harcourt after part of the structure collapsed, leaving four people injured.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Friday at No. 18 Club Road, in the old Port Harcourt Township, when part of the building’s parapet fell onto the ground floor, where people were gathered at a bar.
Among the injured was a woman who reportedly sustained injuries to her head and ear. No fatalities were recorded.
Following the incident, the state Ministry of Urban Development and Physical Planning cordoned off the building and directed its occupants to vacate the premises over fears of a possible further collapse.
