A prominent Ondo State businessman, Akinbolusere Kayode, popularly known as Tolufe, has reportedly died by suicide after recording an emotional video in which he announced that he had transferred his properties and possessions to his wife and three children living in Canada.
Kayode, who owned the popular Esther Estate in Ondo City, reportedly died on Thursday in Ondo State.
In the video, which surfaced after the incident, the businessman was seen driving along a road while explaining his decision to hand over his assets to his family.
He spoke about the difficulties he had recently experienced in his business, particularly the simultaneous breakdown of three machines at his workplace.
According to him, he had gone to work that morning, provided his workers with the necessary materials and purchased fuel for two of the machines.
However, despite initially starting operations, all three machines eventually developed faults, leaving him frustrated and questioning the challenges confronting him.

Kayode said he built his business from scratch without inheriting property or receiving financial assistance from anyone.
He also praised his wife, Akinbolusere Adenike Esther, describing her as a supportive partner who had stood by him throughout their struggles and never caused him problems.
The businessman repeatedly insisted that his wife was not responsible for his difficulties, accepting personal responsibility for the situation he was facing.
He explained that she had supported him even when he had nobody else to assist him and had given him three children.
In the recording, Kayode stated that he voluntarily prepared a will transferring his properties and possessions to his wife and children, insisting that nobody forced, threatened or influenced him.
He said the decision covered everything he acquired through his personal efforts, as well as assets jointly built with his wife during their marriage.
The businessman identified his beneficiaries as his wife and their three children: Oluwafẹranmi Akinbolusere, Toluwani Akinbolusere and Daniel Akinbolusere, all of whom he said were residing in Canada.
He also identified his location in the video as the main road around Kopek Junction, Itanla, Ondo.
Meanwhile, efforts to obtain comments from the Ondo State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, were unsuccessful, as he reportedly neither answered calls nor responded to messages sent to him.
