Residents of Oko-Agbon and Iwaya communities in Lagos State have petitioned Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, over recurring killings and violent attacks, demanding urgent intervention and justice for victims.
In a petition dated November 4, 2026, the residents raised concerns over escalating gang violence, territorial disputes and attacks that have reportedly claimed several young lives.
They identified five people allegedly killed in the latest incident as Mesu Adolph Baba Tee, Mesu Suru Soweto, Saosi Abel, Godonu Roger and Agunchede Vesan. They also expressed concern over reports that as many as eight people were killed in a single day.
The petitioners alleged that some individuals, including a man identified as Bamidele, were linked to the violence and demanded an independent investigation into the allegations and the arrest and prosecution of anyone found culpable.
