Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu over its handling of the country’s growing insecurity, accusing the government of lacking compassion and urgency in addressing the crisis.
In a recent post shared on Instagram, Jegede expressed concern over what she described as the government’s inadequate response to the persistent security challenges facing Nigerians. According to the actress, the issue extends beyond the existence of crime and insecurity, focusing instead on the authorities’ perceived indifference toward victims and affected communities.

“The Nigerian government lacks a sense of humanity,” she wrote.
Addressing President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, Jegede stated that Nigerians should not be treated as people whose lives and welfare can be ignored.
She argued that while crime occurs in every part of the world, the major concern in Nigeria is the widespread belief that victims often receive little or no support from authorities.
“Crimes happen everywhere in the world. The problem is that Nigerians feel that no one will ever come looking for them or seek justice on their behalf,” she said.
Jegede further noted that the recent acts of violence and insecurity have affected people across different ethnic, religious, and social backgrounds, stressing that the crisis is a national issue that requires a united and compassionate response from the government.
The actress’s comments have added to the growing public discourse surrounding security concerns and the government’s efforts to safeguard lives and property across the country.
