
Security operatives in Katsina State have repelled an attempted attack on Gwarjo town in Matazu Local Government Area, forcing suspected bandits to flee and abandon their weapons.
According to a post shared on X by security analyst Bakatsine, officers from the Musawa and Matazu Police Divisions responded swiftly after the bandits tried to invade the community. A heavy exchange of fire followed, after which the attackers retreated into nearby bushes.

In their haste to escape, the bandits left behind a newly acquired motorcycle, two AK-49 rifles, ammunition, and a mobile phone. Police said the recovered items will aid ongoing intelligence efforts to track the attackers and dismantle their network.
Bakatsine commended the officers for their quick response and bravery, noting that such actions are vital to restoring lasting peace and security in the region.
