
The Kano State Police Command has arrested several suspected drug dealers and recovered large quantities of Tramadol and Cannabis Sativa during intelligence-led operations across the state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the operations were carried out by the Special Intervention Squad and Gezawa Division following credible intelligence from members of the public.
In one operation along Nassarawa GRA, two suspects, Abdulsalam Muhammad and Murtala Sani, were arrested with a Bagco sack suspected to contain illicit drugs.
One of the suspects reportedly confessed that the substance was Tramadol supplied by accomplices who are currently at large.

A search of the sack revealed 23 rolls of Tramadol, each containing multiple packs.
In another operation in Gezawa, police arrested Sama’ila Ado at a black spot with 130 wraps and a half block of Cannabis Sativa, while Umar Salisu was also apprehended with 10 wraps of suspected cannabis and two bottles of rubber solution.
The police said all suspects will be charged to court after investigations, while efforts are ongoing to track other members of the drug network.
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori commended the operatives for their professionalism and praised residents for providing useful intelligence, urging continued public cooperation in the fight against drug-related crimes.
