Kim Sae-ron

Kim Sae-ron, the South Korean actor known for her role in ‘The Man From Nowhere’, has passed away at 24.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Sae-ron was found dead at her home in Seongsu-dong, eastern Seoul, by a friend who had plans to meet with her on Sunday.

The cause of her death has yet to be known but the police said “no signs of foul play were found at this time” amid an ongoing investigation.

“We have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death,” police said.

Born July 31, 2000, in Seoul, Kim started her career as a child actor starring in several movies.

However, she got widespread recognition after her role in ‘A Brand New Life’ and became the youngest Korean actor invited to the Cannes Film Festival.

She also featured in the 2010 action hits ‘The Man from Nowhere’, ‘The Villagers’, ‘Love Playlist’, ‘The Neighbors’ and ‘A Girl at My Door’.

Her last known role was in Netflix’s 2023 ‘Bloodhounds’.

However, Sae-ron’s career suffered a significant hit in 2022 after she was found guilty of driving under influence (DUI). This was after she crashed her car in the South Korean capital. She avoided jail but was fined about $14,000 and had her license revoked.

She shared a personal apology for the incident on social media and reportedly spoke with the businesses affected by the accident, but her career stalled when her agency dropped her.

Sae-ron tried to return to acting in 2024 but dropped out again over health issues.
