
Nigerian singer Crayon has opened up about a difficult phase in his life, revealing that he once battled mental health challenges caused by intense pressure from his family and the music industry.
The Afrobeats star made the disclosure during a recent livestream conversation, where he reflected on the struggles he faced in 2022 while trying to balance personal expectations with rising fame.
According to him, the combination of family demands and the pressure to succeed in the competitive music scene became overwhelming, eventually affecting his mental well-being.
“In 2022, I had mental health issues from all sorts of stress, family, industry, trying to be number one stress,” he said.

He added that the situation became serious enough that he had to undergo a long therapy process in hospital.
The singer explained that after receiving treatment and spending time in therapy, he gradually recovered and was able to return to his music career with a clearer mindset.
Following his recovery, Crayon went on to release hit songs such as Labalaba and Overloading, which helped mark his return to the spotlight and re-establish his place in the industry.
He noted that the experience taught him important lessons about handling pressure, mental health, and the importance of taking care of oneself while pursuing success in the entertainment world.
