At least one person has been killed and 47 others abducted in separate bandit attacks on communities in Kaduna and Niger states.
In Kaduna, gunmen invaded Iburu Hanya community in Kajuru Local Government Area on Sunday night, killing a young man identified as Paul Atte and injuring another person. Two women and their children were also abducted but were later released.
In Niger State, 47 residents of Rimi village in Mariga Local Government Area were reportedly kidnapped while harvesting groundnuts on Saturday morning. Most of the victims were women.

Sources said the attackers were believed to have moved the victims into the Ma’undu Forest, a known hideout in the area. Families were yet to establish contact with the abductees as of Monday.
The latest attacks have heightened fears among residents, who are calling for increased security presence to protect lives and property.
