
Awka, Anambra State – A 17-year-old domestic worker has reportedly suffered severe injuries after being allegedly burned with a hot iron by her employer in Anambra State.
The shocking incident allegedly occurred inside the employer’s residence in Awka.
Police sources revealed that the alleged attack was prompted by a disagreement over household chores.
The employer reportedly accused the teenager of neglecting her duties, which escalated into the violent act.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect, an adult woman, has been arrested and is currently in police custody, pending further investigation.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and is said to be recovering.
Police spokesperson Chukwudi Obiora condemned the act, describing it as “heinous and unacceptable,” and assured the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated and justice served.
