The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has strongly opposed the State House of Assembly’s move to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy.
The Rivers State Assembly has maintained that the impeachment is necessary, citing alleged breaches of agreements facilitated by national leaders, while APC insists it will “do everything possible” to safeguard its administration.

Reacting to the development, Darlington Nwauju, APC’s Rivers State Publicity Secretary, said the party “solemnly rejects the resort to an impeachment process” and warned that it would act to prevent destabilization of the APC-led government.
The impeachment process, reportedly initiated over alleged misconduct, is expected to be formalized with a notice to the governor and deputy within the next seven days.
Nwauju noted that the move reflects lingering tensions from past disputes within the PDP but stressed that APC will defend the state government.
