Kano Border Villages Suffer Fresh Attack, Women, Girls Missing

Tension has risen in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State after a late-night raid on Sundu and Biresawa villages, where several women and girls were abducted in an attack that has unsettled communities along the Katsina–Kano border.

Both villages sit on a route increasingly exploited by criminal groups despite the recent peace agreement involving Ingawa, Kankia and Kusada LGAs in Katsina State.

Security analyst Bakatsine, who reported the incident on X on Tuesday, warned that recent patterns suggest the violence is shifting toward border settlements rather than reducing overall.
He questioned what real impact the Katsina peace deal has had, asking whether it has improved safety in the region or merely displaced the attacks to communities that were previously untouched.
