Sheikh Gumi: If Nnamdi Kanu shows remorse, I will advocate for pardon

Renowned Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi stated that if IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu had shown remorse, he would have been among the first to call for his release.

Gumi made the remark on Tuesday while appearing on The Morning Brief, a programme on Channels Television.

His comment comes less than a week after Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced Kanu to life imprisonment, following his conviction on all seven terrorism charges filed against him.
