Nigerian actor and content creator, Odira Nwobu, has reportedly passed away, according to multiple social media posts.
News of his alleged death surfaced on Monday after blogger and content creator, Awuzie Frankline, announced it in a Facebook post, accompanied by a video showing Nwobu lying motionless.
Frankline did not disclose the circumstances surrounding the incident, but reports circulating online claim the actor died a few hours after a night out in South Africa over the weekend.
Expressing deep shock, Frankline wrote: “God why! ODIRA why leave us… The call I received now was not a good one.”
In another post, he noted that Nwobu had appeared full of life earlier in the day in South Africa and had recently held a thanksgiving service that was well attended.
“How can you return from South Africa lifeless? Honestly, I am heartbroken,” he added.
Comedian Evan Okoro also reacted on Facebook, sharing Nwobu’s picture with a message expressing disbelief.
A few months ago, Nwobu was involved in a serious car accident, an incident that drew wide attention after a video from the scene circulated online.
As of the time of this report, Nwobu’s family has not released an official statement regarding his reported passing.
