An Enugu-based social media influencer, Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, popularly known as Senator, has accused the Enugu State Police Command of sending more than 20 armed operatives to his residence in an alleged attempt to arrest him without prior invitation or explanation.
Ugwuanyi made the allegation in a Facebook post on Friday, November 6, 2026, claiming that the operatives stormed his residence on Thursday around 1:00 p.m. in four vehicles.
According to him, the team comprised police officers and members of the Nsukka Neighbourhood Security, a civilian anti-cult group, alongside an individual he identified as Luke Elder.
The influencer described the operation as an intimidating raid, alleging that most of the operatives were dressed in mufti and heavily armed.
He explained that he was away from home when the team arrived but was later contacted by telephone by someone who identified himself as an officer attached to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Enugu.
Ugwuanyi said he requested that an official police invitation be left at his residence so he could read it and voluntarily report to the appropriate authorities to address any allegations against him.
However, he alleged that the officer declined his request and insisted that he report to the Area Command before being taken to the FCID.

The influencer questioned why the police would deploy such a large number of armed personnel instead of following what he described as the appropriate procedure of issuing a formal invitation.
He also criticised the alleged involvement of civilian security operatives in the operation, accusing some officers of using arrest operations for personal financial gain.
Ugwuanyi further disclosed that he had contacted the Area Commander to complain about the incident, warning that he would take steps against officers he accused of carrying out unlawful assignments.
He maintained that he was not avoiding the police but was only demanding that the authorities follow due process by formally communicating the reason for their interest in him.
As of the time of filing this report, Ugwuanyi claimed he had yet to receive an official invitation or any formal explanation regarding the allegations against him.
Meanwhile, attempts to obtain a response from the Enugu State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, reportedly did not answer calls placed to his telephone.
The police have yet to publicly respond to the influencer’s allegations.
