Taraba State University management has ordered the temporary closure of its campus gates following reports of a planned student protest.
The directive, which takes effect on Friday, November 6, 2026, was issued as a precautionary measure to prevent possible security threats and protect lives and property within the institution.
In a notice dated November 5 and signed by the Registrar, Joseph U. Bibinu, the university management said the decision was taken to maintain peace and ensure law and order on campus.
Management explained that all university gates would remain closed temporarily while steps were being taken to address the reported security concerns.
It also directed staff members, including those living in the Main Campus Quarters, who need to enter or leave the institution for official or essential duties to present valid university identity cards signed by the registrar.
The notice warned that anyone who failed to provide the required identification would not be allowed through the security gates.

The closure comes amid reports that some students were planning a protest. However, the university did not reveal the issues behind the proposed demonstration.
