The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has contained three separate fire outbreaks in Lagos Island, Ojodu Berger and Mushin, while averting a possible explosion after a petrol tanker carrying 45,000 litres of fuel fell at Ballet Bus Stop, inward Isolo.
According to the agency, no deaths were recorded in the incidents. However, one man was rescued after falling from a storey building during the fire at Ebute-Ero Market and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The fire at Ebute-Ero Market reportedly affected storage shops in a multi-storey building, while another outbreak at 3Pots by 217 Lounge in Ojodu Berger was linked to an electrical surge from an air-conditioning unit.
In Mushin, a fire that started at a shop on Ladipo Street spread to three adjoining shops before emergency responders brought it under control.

Meanwhile, the fallen petrol tanker spilled fuel from one of its compartments after its driver reportedly attempted to avoid a collision with an overtaking truck.
LASEMA immediately shut down the affected road, enforced crowd control and deployed emergency teams to prevent a possible explosion. Firefighters applied foam to suppress fuel fumes, while arrangements were made to transfer the remaining petrol to another tanker.
The agency urged residents and traders to ensure proper electrical connections and warned truck drivers against reckless overtaking, stressing the importance of safety precautions in preventing avoidable disasters.
Members of the public were also advised to report emergencies through the toll-free numbers 112 and 767.
