The Imo State Police Command has located the suspected camp where 19 prospective NYSC members abducted in the state are being held, but fears of improvised explosive devices have delayed a raid.
The state Commissioner of Police, Audu Garba Bosso, said security operatives used drones to track the suspected kidnappers to their location after trailing them into the bush.
According to him, intelligence reports indicated that the camp may have been heavily mined with IEDs, prompting security agencies to adopt a cautious approach to the rescue operation.
Bosso said security personnel are preparing to move into the area with bulldozers and armoured personnel carriers to rescue the victims safely.
