Four persons are reportedly on the run following the alleged killing of a tea seller in Yola, Adamawa State.
The victim, identified as Muhammed Auwal Idris, was allegedly attacked at Banga, in the Nassarawo Borehole area of Jimeta, Yola.
According to the Adamawa State Police Command, the victim’s elder brother, Aliyu Idris, reported the incident at the Doubeli Divisional Police Headquarters on September 28, 2026.
He reportedly told the police that his younger brother had been attacked by four men identified as Isa, Japhet, Omo and Henry.
Following the report, police operatives were deployed to the area, where they found the victim unconscious.
He was taken to a hospital for medical attention but was later pronounced dead.
The police said the suspects had fled the area before officers arrived and are currently at large.
The command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, said the deceased’s body had been deposited for autopsy as investigations continue.

He added that the police had intensified efforts to locate and arrest the suspects.
The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, condemned the incident and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Investigation to take over the case.
The police said the investigation would be conducted thoroughly and that anyone found responsible would face prosecution.
