Several communities in Osun State have been hit by flooding following days of heavy rainfall, leaving residents worried about further damage to homes, property and roads.
Areas affected include parts of Osogbo, Ilesa, Ijaaregbe, Ijana, Ibala, Ayegunle, Idooko and Eesun Ijesa. The overflow of the Ora River also flooded Muroko Road in Ilesa.

The situation worsened after a bridge linking Ijaaregbe with Ilesa was damaged by the heavy downpour, disrupting movement and preventing some students from getting to school.
Residents who lost valuables to the flood are calling for urgent intervention, while the Osun State Government says measures have already been taken to address flooding and that the Ministry of Works has commenced action on the damaged bridge.
