The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three men suspected of belonging to a motorcycle-snatching syndicate operating around the Guyuk axis of the state.
The suspects were identified as Mohammed Saleh, Suleiman Mohammadu and Ahmadu Damina, all reportedly from Shani Local Government Area of neighbouring Borno State.
According to the police, the suspects were arrested on September 26, 2026, after allegedly attacking Abdu Buba, a resident of Bobini Village in Guyuk Local Government Area.
The victim was reportedly injured during the attack before the suspects allegedly took away his motorcycle.
The command said preliminary investigations indicated that the three suspects were allegedly involved in a syndicate targeting motorcycle owners and other valuables in the area.

Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said a crowd attempted to lynch the suspects shortly after their arrest.
He said police officers and local hunters intervened quickly and prevented the situation from escalating.
The injured victim was taken to a medical facility for treatment, while the police recovered a motorcycle, cutlasses, a torchlight and other items from the suspects.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the police.
