Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have prevented an attempted abduction and rescued six members of a family in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation followed actionable intelligence about an ongoing attack by armed terrorists targeting the family.
According to a report shared by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the troops quickly mobilised to the location after receiving the information.
The troops engaged the attackers, forcing them to abandon the operation and flee the area.
The intervention allowed the six family members to escape unharmed.

The rescued victims were taken to a secure facility where they received preliminary care and assessment.
Arrangements were also being made to reunite them with their relatives.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to respond to distress calls and prevent criminal groups from abducting residents across the North-West.
