Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemates, Aikou and Flora, have been given a fresh opportunity to compete for the show’s ₦160 million grand prize following a new twist introduced during Sunday’s live eviction show.

The duo had earlier been designated as the first Gambits of the season, a special status that guaranteed their places in the house until the grand finale but excluded them from competing for the ultimate cash prize.

However, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced a new twist during the live show, tagged “Operation Release the Gambit,” giving viewers the power to decide whether Aikou, Flora, or both should regain eligibility to compete for the grand prize.

According to the announcement, viewers can vote for one of three options: reinstate Aikou, reinstate Flora, or reinstate both housemates.

The development has put the fate of the two housemates in the hands of the public, with the outcome of the poll expected to determine whether they will remain Gambits or return to the main competition for the ₦160 million prize.

Aikou and Flora earned their Gambit positions earlier in the season through a viewers’ voting process. Flora emerged as the female Gambit after securing 29.38 per cent of the votes, while Aikou took the male position with 9.10 per cent.

Other contestants who competed for the male Gambit slot included Ricky, who polled 7.30 per cent, and Abi, who received 6.07 per cent.

The Gambit twist initially offered Aikou and Flora the advantage of guaranteed longevity in the house until the finale, but the arrangement came with the major sacrifice of losing their eligibility for the ₦160 million grand prize.

With “Operation Release the Gambit,” however, that decision could now change.

The latest twist has added another layer of uncertainty and excitement to the ongoing BBNaija Season 11 competition, as viewers will ultimately determine whether Aikou and Flora can return to the race for the coveted prize.
