
A 60-year-old man has reportedly died under mysterious circumstances in a hotel located in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State.
According to the Jigawa State Police Command, the deceased had checked into the hotel alongside a 20-year-old woman before the incident occurred.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, authorities revealed that the man suddenly developed a medical emergency shortly after requesting a meal. He was said to have begun gasping for air, prompting immediate concern.
Police officers from the Yalwawa Division responded swiftly to a distress call from the hotel and rushed the victim to the General Hospital in Dutse. However, upon arrival, medical personnel confirmed him dead.

During a preliminary investigation, detectives inspected the hotel room and recovered several items, including food, drinks, personal belongings, and a substance suspected to be a sexual enhancement drug. These items have been taken for further examination.
The body of the deceased has since been released to his family for burial following their request.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old woman who accompanied the man is currently assisting the police with ongoing investigations by providing relevant information about the events leading up to his death.
The police have urged members of the public to refrain from spreading unverified information, assuring that a thorough and professional investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death.
