
Troops of Operation UDO KA have recovered an assault rifle and several rounds of ammunition during a targeted raid on a suspected cultists’ hideout in Obiakpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The operation, which was carried out on July 13, 2026, took place in Ogbogoro community following credible intelligence reports.
According to security sources, the troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade acted swiftly on actionable information to locate and dismantle the hideout.
Reports indicate that a suspected cult member who had earlier been arrested provided useful information that led security operatives to the location.

During the raid, the troops recovered one Beretta AR-70 assault rifle along with 45 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition.
Security sources further revealed that efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend other members of the criminal gang who fled the scene during the operation.
The successful recovery highlights the continued efforts of security forces to combat cultism and criminal activities in the region.
