
Suspected bandits linked to notorious kingpin Bello Turji have reportedly launched a deadly attack on Lajinge community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, leaving at least five people dead and several women abducted.
The attack, which occurred on Tuesday night, was revealed in a post by a conflict tracker on Wednesday. According to the report, the armed assailants stormed the community, opening fire on residents and causing panic across the area.
In addition to the fatalities, no fewer than eight individuals sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment. The attackers also reportedly kidnapped an unspecified number of women during the raid.
Eyewitness accounts further indicate that the bandits looted valuables and rustled a significant number of livestock before fleeing the scene, compounding the losses suffered by the already vulnerable community.

The fate of the abducted victims remains unknown as of the time of filing this report, heightening fears among residents who now live under the threat of possible renewed attack.
Local sources have expressed deep concern over the recurring attacks allegedly linked to Bello Turji, whose activities continue to fuel displacement, insecurity, and loss of lives across parts of Sokoto State.
